by Samantha Wright Clap, Clap, Clap. People watch in amazement, as I stand here proud and tall. A horde of heterogeneous faces peer in awe. The sun beats down upon my adamant surface. I am displayed here all day, until dusk. The atmosphere suddenly becomes silent. Wooosh, wooosh, the wind becomes cold. The sun sets below the ocean, like a ball of ice cream, melting on a hot day. I await my fate. The impelling force of the ocean entangles me and sweeps my remnants away forever. I am a sandcastle by day... a memory by night. |
