Animal Records by Heather Welty Humans hold some records For as long as they can keep Like running the fastest mile Or taking the highest leap But animals hold records too Just like you and me Jumping high into the air Or swimming fast in the sea The fastest shark's the mako And as far as we can see The very biggest mammal Is far beneath the sea The ostrich is the fastest bird The poison dart frog kills Cheetah is the quickest cat Black momba gives me chills The emu has the largest egg Sailfish swims so fast Animals have amazing records Hopefully they'll last
